World Cup 2014! How To Watch It Online For FREE!

Today. Today is the day. The tournament for the game that every country in the world loves. I'm talking of course about soccer/futbol/futebol/soka...etc.

I know so many people who are pumped to watch this tournament, as they should be.  But if you're like me and don't have espn then you might be in a bit of a pickle. But Fear NOT!

There are a ton of websites that will claim that they will let you watch the World Cup for free but will end up blasting you with ads or swooping in at the last minute to make you pay. But the website I'm about to give you is 100 percent free and reliable. I've used this website many many times to watch my Carolina Hurricanes play in the NHL.

The website is called LiveTv.sx/en. It is a website dedicated solely to bring you sports from all around the world. The website is Russian, and that is why its very important that you get the "/en" part of the link, that way it will be translated into English. Down below I'm going to give you a step by step look at how to view a live sporting event. This website also displays the times of the matches in local time, Russian time. Russia is 8 hours ahead of the east coast of the US so make sure to do the math and find out when the matches will be on in your timezone.

So this photo below is the home page of the website. (Click photo to enlarge).

From this page you can see a number of events and their respective times. In the left column you are seeing all of the events that are live at the moment. In order to find the World Cup matches you'll need click on the blue soccer/football square that is just above the box where you see live events.

After you click it you will come to this page.

This page shows you all of the times of live and upcoming matches for the current day as well as days to come. So this page is a fantastic resource when trying to find when your favorite team is playing. Just make sure you click on the link with the World Cup Logo beside it.

So since there are no soccer matches on at the moment when I am writing this I'm going to click on another event and show you how to view it.

Down below are the links for the US Open Golf Championship, I know this is a different sport you still view them the same way so this translate over to World Cup matches as well.

This pages shows you all the different links to take you to the same event. You can watch two different ways.

The first is by using a pop-out web player that looks like this.

As you can see the video will pop up in a new window. The quality of these videos are questionable at certain times, it just depend on which link you click. So if you select a link and discover that it's not the best quality just try one of the other links and you will find a better one.

Ok, the second way to watch is through external software that you download, for free I should add.

I do need to say however, that method of watching events uses a peer-to-peer sharing site. If you aren't sure what that means click here for an explanation.

This is MY personal favorite way to watch.  The streams are always very high quality. This is the best method if you are going to hook up your computer to your TV to watch.

Ill show you how to use this method down below.

So now are back at the page that displays all the different links to your event. Lets click one of the links below where it says "Streams viewable using external software". Now if you haven't installed the software you will be prompted to do so. The download is secure, I can personally vouch seeing as I've downloaded it myself.

Once you download the software a pop-out box will appear with your video and it will look like this. You will see that the stream quality is very close to that of a TV stream.

Thats it! You can watch every single World Cup match plus any other sporting event you could possibly imagine.

I really hope this helps. If you have any questions please ask me either on facebook, twitter, or you can send me an email, ianpatrickharris@gmail.com.

Thanks for reading this! Make sure to share this post so that others can watch this game that we all love so much!
